Stability Estimates in Inverse Scattering
An algorithm is given for calculating the solution to the 3D inverse scattering problem with noisy discrete fixed energy data. The error estimates for the calculated solution are derived. The methods developed are of general nature and can be used in many applications: in nondestructive evaluation and remote sensing, in geophysical exploration, medical diagnostics and technology.
متن کاملStability of the Solution to Inverse Obstacle Scattering Problem
It is proved that if the scattering amplitudes for two obstacles (from a large class of obstacles) differ a little, then the obstacles differ a little, and the rate of convergence is given. An analytical formula for calculating the characteristic function of the obstacle is obtained, given the scattering amplitude at a fixed frequency.
متن کاملNew Global Stability Estimates for Monochromatic Inverse Acoustic Scattering
We give new global stability estimates for monochromatic inverse acoustic scattering. These estimates essentially improve estimates of [P. Hähner, T. Hohage, SIAM J. Math. Anal., 33(3), 2001, 670-685] and can be considered as a solution of an open problem formulated in the aforementioned work.
متن کاملStability estimates for an inverse scattering problem at high frequencies
We consider an inverse scattering problem and its near-field approximation at high frequencies. We first prove, for both problems, Lipschitz stability results for determining the low-frequency component of the potential. Then we show that, in the case of a radial potential supported sufficiently near the boundary, infinite resolution can be achieved from measurements of the near-field operator ...
متن کاملObstacle Scattering as Seen
We recount some of Ralph Kleinman's scientiic achievements in obstacle scattering for time harmonic waves by reporting on two topics where R.K. and R.K. interacted mathematically. The rst topic is the problem of nonuniqueness for the classical boundary integral equations for the direct scattering problem and the second is the development of numerical methods for the inverse scattering problem.
